Recharging Batteries

lazy crazy days of summmer IMG_5693Every creature needs to take time to stretch out, catch their breath, contemplate the fruits of summer past and recharge their batteries. I’ll be doing this in Maine for the next several days with my daughter Sadie. Thank you for your continued support. Naturally Curious posts will resume on September 9th.

Yes, relax and recharge. We’ll need you more than ever this winter – moved to Manchester, Vermont, and share some woods with foxes, deer, and (for the first time) bears. So much to learn…….

This is, I guess, a fox yawning, but as it appears in my browser it looks as if it has horns and a blunt snout, one smooth body and one fluffy one. So I puzzled over whether it was a Photoshopped composite of several animals–perhaps otter, fox and miniaturized ox horns?–put together as a joke to keep us busy figuring out what it was while Mary is gone. Guess not, as no one else seems phased. In any case, I will keep looking at what seems a mystery animal, but also use the website to see many Holland postings from this treasure of a newsletter.

Have a great time! I’m guessing you’ll be far from Belfast area so we can’t connect, but do let me know if we can. I’m on Cape Cod until Sunday, so that may overlap your stay in Maine too. In any case, I will look forward to seeing you when those stars line up again! love, Nan
