Leaf Mandala

Mark Council's leavesOnce in a very great while someone with an eye for beauty and a special connection with the natural world gives us the gift of his or her creativity. Mark Council is a Vermont treasure. You can see more of Mark’s indescribably beautiful leaf mandalas on his Quiet Light Photo Imagery Facebook page. His seasonal photograph gallery can be viewed at his website http://www.quietlightvermont.com.

From the artist’s mouth: This world is so breathtakingly beautiful. All too often we fail to see it until that beauty hurls itself into our consciousness, and then everything becomes extraordinary. When this happens, that’s when I know I’m in the vortex..

    Hi Mary

I don’t know Mark’s work but will go to his site. This mandala is gorgeous. Each fall I put colored leaves between wax paper in various patterns, iron them (like elementary school) and hang in the window, tho this year I didn’t get to it as I was tending to our dying dog.

I too love nature sculpture/art and so I am sending you Sally Smith’s site. Do you know her work? It is beyond fantastic. She is truly at one with the natural world and her work is magical. She spoke at the VT Flower Show a few years ago.

I happened upon some gorgeous blue mushrooms the other week, growing in our hedge row among rotting apple branches. I will email a photo to see if you know who it is.

Thanks for your work. It is so very important. All the best, Kathy Kinter
