  59. First thought this was a black cherry, then decided a cherry birch, or even yellow birch, then mayyybe a trembling aspen…but now I’m back to black cherry. And I think the 1st photo might be eastern tent caterpillar egg masses wintering over, and the 2nd is black knot, both the tent caterpillars and black knot being found often on black cherry trees. (Now to see what everyone else thinks!)
