    I think otter latrine – it looks like there is scaly scat in the foreground. And in my experience, beaver scent mounds tend to be right on the water.

    Mystery photo is, I think, a place where a beaver rolled and left his scent for a female beaver. Second guess is an otter doing the same. I see these rolling marks next to our river in NH. Betsy Janeway
