A wonderful wish. It’s awesome to pass nature knowledge along, from young ones thru adults!

  10. Yes, a wonderful and important wish! I just wanted to tell you that I gave your new daily reader to my son-in-law, to share with his family (i.e., my daughter and two grandkids), and he was excited by it, as am I by my own copy. Your daily blogs are a daily delight for me, and the book takes it all even further/deeper.
I just discovered that you were involved in starting the ELF program many years ago. I volunteered with ELF, for my daughter’s class when we first moved to VT 35 years ago, and now I coordinate the Four Winds program at our local school (where I was a teacher for many years, and did my best to incorporate outdoor explorations into my classroom program, and where my grandkids now attend). So… I’m indebted to you and your gifts and inspiration in many, many ways. Thank you so very much! – Dell Waterhouse

    • What a small world it is! I knew we were kindred spirits from your comments over the years. Lisa Purcell is one of my favorite people! Thank you for all the work you’ve done through your teaching, ELF and Four Winds — a lifetime of giving!

  11. I think I’d like to share a poem that’s been lifting my spirits lately, by Hafiz, who was a 14th-century Sufi poet from Persia:

    Even after all these years,
The sun has never said to the earth,
    “You owe me.”
Look what happens with a love like that.
    It lights the whole sky!

    • I love this, Dell. Really love it. Thank you.

      • I’m so glad that it “hit the spot” for you! Those Sufis really get it, on the deepest levels!
