Get well soon, Mary. NC is indispensible reading. But you need a break now and again, surely, and recovering from the rigors of the holidays means your readers often want to pause and take a breath, anyway.

Sorry to hear you are ill. Try making water cress soup for yourself. A vegetable or chicken stock heated and add watercress to wilting. It’s really helpful for the lungs.

I really enjoy your work. Ranger Jean

    Hope you are feeling better,
How unusual is it to see an adult 200 to 250 lb bear jogging along a road at dusk in late December?

    January 6, 2017 at 4:48 pm

    • Fairly unusual unless there’s a good supply of beechnuts or acorns (this was a good year for acorns) or the weather’s been mild. Males usually den last, so it was most likely a male.
