Dear Mary, Why are there so many Beech seedlings (4-6â) here? The ground was blanketed for an acre or more. There were some mature beeches nearby with evidence of disease. Could the trees have put out that many seeds, or can the roots send up sprouts? Hope you might be able to find an answer.
